Visions of Magic

Title: Visions of Magic
Author: Regan Hastings
Date Read: March 2011
Number of Pages: 356
Why did you read it: It was the first book in a new series and it looked interesting.
What was it about: Every witch has a destined mate, an Eternal who will serve as her guardian and complete her powers. Once the first of the coven has awakened, the witches must race against time to join with their Eternals and protect the relics that will prevent the destruction of the world..
In the ten years since magic had reemerged, witches have become feared and pursued. For weeks Shea Jameson has been haunted by visions of fire. When she unintentionally preforms a spell in public, she becomes one of the hunted. Her only hope is Torin, a dangerously sensual man who claims to be her Eternal mate.
Torin says that the time of Shea's Awakening has come and that they must find an artifact hidden centuries ago-or else face the end of the world. As her power manifests, and danger and death draw near, Shea must decide whether to trust Torin and the passion and powers he brings her-or risk the destruction of everything she's ever known.
Who was your favorite Character: Rune (another Eternal)
How did you feel: I was a little disappointed that the author felt the need to state she was hiding who she really was at the back of the book. It said "blah blah is a pseudonyn of a USA Today bestselling author of more then a hundred romance books" I think that they should have let the book speak for itself instead of putting that. But It was a good book, kinda rushed the end so i could be done with it before i left my mothers so I could leave it with her. I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next one coming out in Oct. There was a lot of cloak and dagger going on but it was cool and kept the story fast paced. I disliked the villan which was how it's supposed to be. In all it was a good book. It reminded me a lot of Christine Feehan's carpathian novels with the whole two sides of the same soul but instead of vampires, it's witches and her Eternal. I did like the book a lot and suggested it to a few people.
