Title: Touch the Dark
Author: Karen Chance
Date Read: Sept 2011
Number of Pages:
Why did you read it: It sounded like a good book.
What was it about: Cassandra Palmer can see the future and communicate with spirits-talents that made her attractive to the dead and the undead. The ghosts of the dead aren’t usually dangerous; they just like to talk..a lot.
The undead are another matter.
Like any sensible girl, Cassie tries to avoid vampires. But when the bloodsucking Mafioso she escaped three years ago finds Cassie again with vengeance on his mind, she’s forced to turn to the vampire Senate for protection.
The Undead senators won’t help her for nothing, and Cassie finds herself working with one of their most powerful members, dangerously seductive master vampire-and the price he demands may be more then Cassie is willing to pay.
Who was your favorite Character: the Master vampire (can’t remember his name off hand)
How did you feel after reading it: It was a good book! It seemed fast paced, not something I am used to but it was still good. I felt like there was no break or breathing it seemed. But it was still good and I look forward to reading the next.

Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison
Title: Storm’s Heart
Author: Thea Harrison
Date Read: Sept 2011
Number of Pages: 305
Why did you read it: Was a second in a good looking series.
What was it about: Able to wield thunder and lightning, wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the wyr's best weapons. And he's the one sent to protect Tricks, heir to the Dark Fae throne, when she's almost assassinated in Chicago. Soon Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them-a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds.
Who was your favorite Character: Rune again
How did you feel after reading it: I couldn't wait to read this book and I went throught his one faster then the second. Again there wasn't a lot of conflict between the two and that was refreshing. When there isn't a lot of conflict between the two and they are working together against the bad it is just neat. Was still a great series and wish that the 3rd of Oct would get here sooner for the 3rd book which is about Rune!

Dragon Blood by Thea Harrison
Title: Dragon Bound
Author: Thea Harrison
Date Read: Sept 2011
Number of Pages: 270
Why did you read it: Sounded like a good book
What was it about: Half-human and half-wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful-and passionate-of the Elder races.
Who was your favorite Character: Rune
How did you feel after reading it: I thought it was a really good book and couldn’t wait to read the next. I was up in Duluth when I finished the book, sitting in the starbucks in our hotel. I didn't want to do anything but drink my coffee and read the end of my book. I quickly suggested the book to my mother to read. I thought there was a nice balance between the two main characters, yes he was rather domineering but she wasn't overly wimpy or whiny.

The Darkness Beyond by Alexis Morgan
Title: The Darkness Beyond
Author: Alexis Morgan
Date Read: Sept 2011
Number of Pages: 246
Why did you read it: It was part of an ongoing series
What was it about:
An Online game of cat and mouse leads a Paladin warrior on a deadly rescue mission to claim the irresistible lover who should be his greatest enemy.
D.J. Clayborne has finally met his match. After weeks of playing cyber tag, a mysterious hacker bests D.J. at his own game. His nemesis downloads a top-secret history of the Paladins, forcing him to go on the hunt. The trail leads D.J. straight to Regina Morrison, a woman who is as sexy as she is talented in the cyber world.
Reggie has been working around the clock to stop a legendary computer hacker from accessing her clients’ files, but the last thing she expects is to have D.J. show up at her door. Or that he’s even hotter then his evasive avatar. Soon they’re flirting with a dangerous line between duty and desire.
Now, Reggie’s investigation gets her kidnapped by the Others and forces across th hostile energy barrier into an alien world. And it’s up to D.J. to track down the captivating woman whose ability to break through his firewalls is also breaking through to his warrior’s heart.
Who was your favorite Character: Cale
How did you feel after reading it: It was a good book and I enjoyed it. It's nice to see that all the books are different. There isn't a problem with all the books being the same with different names that you sometimes see in long going series. I also likes how Reggie was strong and not portrayed as some weak woman who needed a man at all times. And in the face of rejection she stood tall and strong to claim what she wanted.

The Vampire Dimitri by Colleen Gleason
Title: The Vampire Dimitri
Author: Colleen Gleason
Date Read: July 2011
Number of Pages:
Why did you read it: I love the author.
What was it about: Dimitri, also known as the Earl of Corvindale, should be delighted that the headstrong Maia Woodmore is getting married. His mortal ward and houseguest has annoyed—and bewitched—the Dracule nobleman too long, and denying his animal cravings grows more excruciating by the day.
Miss Woodmore's family has a rather…complicated history with the immortals and she herself possesses a keen sensibility far beyond mere women's intuition. Marriage will give her safety, respectability and everything else a proper young lady could wish for. Everything, that is, except passion.
In the looming battle between Dracule factions, all pretenses will shatter as Maia and Dimitri come together in an unholy union of danger, desperation and fiercest desire.
Who was your favorite Character: Maia
How did you feel after reading it: It was interesting to see how different it was. The first book was surprising but then when you start the second book, they overlap a little so you can see the things that happened from another prospective. I really hope that she writes more in this series so I can see what's happening. There are many other characters that I'd be interested in reading about.

The Vampire Voss by Colleen Gleason
Title: The Vampire Voss
Author: Colleen Gleason
Date Read: July 2011
Number of Pages:
Why did you read it: I love the author
What was it about: Voss, also known as Viscount Dewhurst, relishes the sensual pleasures immortality affords. A member of the Dracule-a cabal of powerful, secretive noblemen marked with a talisman that reveals their bartered souls-the merecenary Voss has remained carefully neutral… until Angelica.
Angelica Woodmore possesses the Sight, an ability invaluable to both sides of a looming war among the Dracule. Her very scent envelops Voss in a scarlet fog of hunger-for her body and her blood. But he is utterly unprepared for the new desire that overcomes him-to protect her.
Now Voss must battle his very nature to be with Angelica… but this vampire never backs down from a fight.
Who was your favorite Character: Voss
How did you feel after reading it: Eager for the second in the trilogy. It was a great book and I read it in like a day! The idea is different then any other vampire book out there. The idea that the vampires aren't good and magical and instead they are the darker. Focused on just pleasure and gluttony until they find love and are changed. It was surprising that Angelica was so digusted by the idea of Voss feeding on her. It was refreshing. I really enjoyed the book.

The Vampire Narcise by Colleen Gleason
Title: The Vampire Narcise
Author: Colleen Gleason
Date Read: Sept 2011
Number of Pages: 288
Why did you read it: Was the third in a trilogy
What was it about: Skilled in the seduction of men, both mortal and immortal, Narcise Moldavi is the greatest weapon in her twisted brother's war among the Dracule. Until she falls for Giordan Cale.
Her first searing encounter with Giordan seals their fierce connection for their eternal lives. But Giordan's vow to help Narcise escape her brother's rule is followed by a betrayal more agonizing than sunlight.
Wounded but determined, Narcise ensnares vampire hunter Chas Woodmore in her quest for revenge and to reclaim her life. He wants her, worships her, will kill for her. And the Dracule never forget a wrong— nor do they forgive.
Who was your favorite Character: Cale
How did you feel after reading it: It was hard to finish because I knew bad happened in the middle of the book and didn’t want to read the bad. But it turned out well. Narcise was such a tragic character and the things that happened to both her and Cale were hard to read. But they made them who they were in the end. I don't know why it was so hard for me to read the book. I put it down and took me forever to get back to it. Now that I finished it though, I am glad I finished it. It was a good book and I am wondering if she will write one about Sonja the youngest sister since she wrote one about both Maia and Angela.
