Title: Something Wicked
Author: Michelle Rowen
Date Read: January 2011
Number of Pages: 368
Why did you read it: It was a sequel to a book I liked
What was it about: Living in Eden isn’t exactly heaven on earth…
Darrak, the demon inside Eden Riley, is able to take physical shape during the day. And Eden wouldn’t mind getting her hands on him-if it wasn’t a threat to her immortal soul. But while trying to rid themselves of the curse that binds them, they could get the distance they need..or each have their own private hell to pay.
How did you feel after reading it: Happy and Sad at the same time. It was a great book but the next one isn’t coming out until next year. The first book was a lot of Eden freaking out every other day but this book was much better because it was developing Darrak more. The author seems to enjoy building a character up and drawing you in and then killing the character up. I can only hope that habit will stop and perhaps we will see Theo again sometime. I had a hard time finishing this book but I think it was more because it was so good that i didn't want it to end and less about the book being bad. I am definately looking forward to the next book coming out in December of 2011.

Devil's Due
Title: Devil’s Due
Author: Arliss Adams
Date Read: January 2011
Number of Pages: 216
Why did you read it: Was a sequel to a book I read yesterday.
What was it about: Jen Connor has withstood violent rape, a near-fatal illness, the loss of a husband, and the smashing of her dreams. But that was only the beginning. Unappeased, fate has dealt her a new set of challenges. As she rises from the ashes to achieve renown in the theatrical world, she must face what awaits her in Los Angeles: powerful, vindictive former in-laws who are deteremined to fight for custody of Jen’s young son at all costs. What she doesn’t know is that an ancient enemy will surface, firing her desire for retribution. She has an arsenal of formidable friends-a Russian ballet instructor with shadowy contacts, an acid-tongued critic, a new man in her life, and a long-lost sister. Together they stand against Jen’s adversaries, but will they be enough? (From Amazon Product Description)
How did you feel after reading it: Satisfied that Jen finally got her revenge and happy ending. I was both dreading and looking forward to reading this book after finishing the first. The first one had left me feeling so connected the Jen. The second book was less about Jen, it instead followed her sister Judy and what happened to the people who hurt Jen in the past. This made it not as heart wrenching as the first one was but it was still very good. As I said earlier it was satisfying to see Jen get her happy ending. Arliss Adams did not disappoint in this sequel and I will recommend both books to my friends and family.

Devil's Dance
Title: Devil’s Dance
Author: Arliss Adams
Date Read: January 2011
Number of Pages: 229
Why did you read it: I got it as an early reviewers copy
What was it about: Jeanette Connor’s struggle to reclaim her life carries to California-a land of opportunity-and looming nightmares. It’s winter in Chicago, 1955 and Jeanette Connor is on the brink of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. A contract with the New York City Ballet. But her mother has other ideas for the 16-year-old prodigy and a tragic die is cast. Thrown into deep depression by her mother’s actions, the teenager shifts her trust to the wrong people. This earns her a kidnapping and a violent turn as a teenage prostitute, ending when she is left for dead in a snow-covered vacant lot. Rescued in time by a twist of fate, she must now put her broken body and shattered emotions back together. (from Amazon Product Description)
How did you feel after reading it: This book was hard for me to read but got really good in the end and am interested in the second one. The first 50 pages of the book showed Jenny to have such a horrible turn in life I wasn't sure It was the kind of book I wanted to read. But I pushed through and then about 50 pages from the end I didn't feel I could read anymore because so many things had happened for poor Jenny I was afraid that if I kept on reading more bad would happen to her. The author has an amazing ability to wrap you up in the story so you are smiling when Jenny is happy and crying when she is. I felt quite connected to the main character and shared her triumphs and heartbreaks all along the way. I both dread and look forward to the sequel for that exact reason and any author who can make me feel that way is a great author in my eyes.

Update!
So I had all these grand plans on reading books everyday and posting info on them but then life got busy and I have been in the middle of the same book I started back in November.
I know I don't have any followers on my blog at the moment but I still have hopes that someday someone will find it and enjoy my reviews. After the first of the year I am sure things will calm down enough that I'll be able to go back to reading regularly!
So anyone who finds this, just bare with me and I'll get back to reading soon!

The Demon in Me by Michelle Rowen
Title : Demon in Me
Author: Michelle Rowen
Date Read: Nov 2010
Number of Pages: 326
Why did you read it: Looked like a good book
What was it about:
Hell hath no Fury…
Fate has led Eden Riley to become a “psychic Consultant” to the police, even though her abilities are unreliable at best. Those paranormal powers are about to get her into a jam she couldn’t have predicted: After her hunky police detective partner guns down a serial killer in front of her, Eden realizes that she’s quite literally no longer alone. A voice in her head introduces himself as Darrak. He’s a demon. But not in a bad way!
..Like a woman Possessed.
Darrak lost his original body three hundred years ago, thanks to a witch’s curse. This is the first time he’s ever been able to speak directly to a host, plus there’s a bonus: Eden’s psychic energy helps him to take form during daylight hours. He wants to use this chance to find a way to break his curse-finally. Otherwise, Eden’s going to have to learn to live with this sexy demon…like it or not.
But she thinks she may like it.
How did you feel after reading it: It was a really good book and I’m interested in seeing how the second one goes. I've never read this author and found that I'm happy I took the chance and picked up her book. It was very good, had a lot of characteristics of books I've enjoyed in the past. It was a little confusing, lots of people thrown at you but I think because it was the first book in what I hope will be a long going series, it was necessary to get the main characters in the plot out there and I'm hoping that things will calm down in the second book and we'll see more story and less OMG more people!

First Post
Hello!
My name is Bella and this is a new experiment for myself. I read a lot and decided I'd like to take the chance to share my thoughts and opinions on the books I read with anyone who wants to know.
At the moment I'm reading book six of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher called Blood Rites. I will have something about it up as soon as I finish!
