Title: Bad Wolf
Author: Jennifer Ashley
Date Read: March 2017
Number of Pages: 149
Why did you read it: Was on the nook
What was it about: Wolf Shifter Broderick is stuck looking after his three younger brothers and a Collar-less Shifter who is driving him crazy, but he’s putting up with it for Joanne, the human woman he, for some reason, wants to impress. Joanne Greene, while grateful to Broderick for rescuing her sister, doesn’t know what to make of him. She’s been a loner most of her life, better able to relate to computers and coding than to people, until she’s drawn into the world of the Shifters.
Broderick is everything Joanne is not—a fighter and a tracker, from a rough-and-tumble family, better at working with his hands than understanding the netherworld of Joanne’s computer programmer life. Broderick is also extremely protective, wanting to draw her under his care as he does everyone else.
When Broderick is captured, mistaken for a Guardian, it’s Joanne who figures out that hackers are after the Guardian Network, the database that holds the deep secrets of Shifters past and present. Strangely, Broderick now holds the key to stopping the deadly danger of the network's breach, and Joanne with her coding skills is the only one who can help him.
Who was your favorite Character: Joanne. She was a strong independent woman and didn’t change.
How did you feel after reading it: It was a little confusing at first because it was in the middle of a world but it was a stand alone novel in that world and it was a good read.

What was it about: Meet Hailey — possessed by an other-worldly being from another dimension who was previously trapped in her Kindle.
When Hailey Parrish discovered her husband was cheating with her co-worker, she swore off men. Then, she had to find another job when her boss went to prison for running a prostitution ring in his spare time. Three years later, Hailey still hadn’t gone on a date and she milks chinchilla for a living.
Her life was about to get weirder.
While in pursuit of inter-dimensional miscreants who use their arcane powers to prey upon humans, Sebastian Kess was ambushed and mortally wounded. To save his life, he used his own magic to convert his soul to binary code and transfer it into Hailey’s soon-to-be shipped Kindle eBook reader. When Hailey inadvertently releases him and he inhabits her body, she finally has a man inside her, just not in the way she imagined.
Hailey must come to grips with the existence of the parallel dimension of Coursodon and the realization that magically inclined non-humans walk the world all while dealing with Sebastian’s arrogant banter in her head. Her predicament also introduces her to another supernatural, the handsome could-be-the-man-of-her-dreams Alex Sunderland. The action moves from Hailey’s hometown of Tucson, Arizona to New England and across Europe as she and Alex try to return Sebastian to his own body while staying one step ahead of the criminals who want to keep him where he is.
Who was your favorite Character: Alex
How did you feel after reading it: I liked it, the interaction between the characters was fun and I enjoyed the pace. Unfortunately it was another serial book instead of a stand alone novel.

Twilight Guardian by Maggie Shayne
Title: Twilight Guardian
Author: Maggie Shayne
Date Read: March 2017
Number of Pages: 281
Why did you read it: I enjoyed the orginial series.
What was it about: They told 20-year-old Charlie O’Malley that they had a cure for the rare blood condition that would eventually kill her–an untested, experimental cure. All they wanted in return was for her to join their elite military team and train to kill the Undead.
She took the deal, not because she cared so much about extending her life, but because it would make her strong–stronger than ordinary humans. Strong enough to kill the vampire who’d pretended to love her, taken her blood, used her body, and murdered her mother.
Killion was the last of his kind, or so he thought. When he found Charlie, he felt the pull. She had the rare Belladonna Antigen all vampires had as humans. Vampires were compelled to protect those rare mortals they called The Chosen. But with Charlie, the bond was different, more powerful than anything he’s felt before, and impossible to resist, even though surrendering to it will probably get him killed.
Ancient vampire elders Rhiannon and Roland come out of exile, risking their lives to help their mortal friend Roxy reclaim her granddaughter. But before the tale ends, their lives will be forever changed.
Who was your favorite Character: Killian
How did you feel after reading it: I Enjoyed the book though Charlie was a bit annoying at times, not trusting herself.

Dying for a Living by Kory M Shrum
Title: Dying for a Living
Author: Kory M Shrum
Date Read: March 2017
Number of Pages: 252
Why did you read it: Was on the nook
What was it about: On the morning before her 67th death, it is business as usual for Jesse Sullivan: meet with the mortician, counsel soon-to-be-dead clients, and have coffee while reading the latest regeneration theory. Jesse dies for a living, literally. As a Necronite, she is one of the population’s rare 2% who can serve as a death replacement agent, dying so others don’t have to. Although each death is different, the result is the same: a life is saved, and Jesse resurrects days later with sore muscles, new scars, and another hole in her memory.
But when Jesse is murdered and becomes the sole suspect in a federal investigation, more than her freedom and sanity are at stake. She must catch the killer herself—or die trying.
Who was your favorite Character: Jesse
How did you feel after reading it: I liked the book but not enough to pay 5 dollars per book for the rest of the series. Once again it’s not a stand alone book but a continuing series.

Ruthless by Michelle St James
Title: Ruthless
Author: Michelle St James
Date Read: March 2017
Number of Pages: 237
Why did you read it: Was on the nook
What was it about: Two years out of college, Angelica Bondesan spends her time working as a barista, keeping in touch with her prodigal brother, and trying to figure out how to bridge the gap with her father, a wealthy real estate developer.
But all of that changes the night she’s kidnapped. Thrown into a windowless room, Angelica is positive there’s been some kind of mistake — until she meets Nico Vitale.
Gorgeous and frightening, Nico became the boss of New York City’s Vitale crime family after the execution style murder of his parents two years earlier. Since then he’s turned the old-school mob into a sleek, modern army of ruthless men who understand that physical violence — while always an option — isn’t the only way to get what you want.
Now Angel is forced to face the truth;
Her father is not the man she believed him to be. Nico Vitale is dangerous, possibly lethal. She is falling in love with Nico Vitale.
Who was your favorite Character: Lucas
How did you feel after reading it: It was another book that is continued instead of a standalone. I am kind of getting tired of these. I did like the chemistry between the two and enjoyed the story.
