Author: Angie Fox
Date Read: Jan 2017
Number of Pages: 170
Why did you read it: Book 7 in the Demon Slayer series.
What was it about: Lizzie Brown is all for letting the good times roll…until a dark voodoo church rises up in the bayou outside of New Orleans. Now ritual fires are burning long into the night and the dead are having a hard time staying that way.
Lizzie goes in undercover to put a stop to the madness. Good thing she can count on her sexy shape-shifter husband, as well as her Grandma’s gang of biker witches. Too bad nobody’s watching her trusty dog, Pirate, who has become way too friendly with the phantom haunting a long-forgotten Victorian séance room.
Secrets and spirits abound. Nothing is what it seems. And when legions of the dead threaten the city,
Who was your favorite Character: Dimitri.
How did you feel after reading it: This book was still as good as the rest but I had a hard time getting into it and finishing it. It had nothing to do with the story though. Number

Why
did you read it: Third

What
was it about: Last
month, I was a single preschool teacher whose greatest thrill
consisted of color-coding my lesson plans. That was before I learned
I was a slayer. Now, it’s up to me to face curse-hurling imps,
vengeful demons, and any other supernatural uglies that crop up. And,
to top it off, a hunk of a shape-shifting griffin has invited me to
Greece to meet his family.
But
it’s not all sun, sand, and ouzo. Someone has created a dark-magic
version of me with my powers and my knowledge—and it wants to kill
me and everyone I know. Of course, this evil twin doesn’t have
Grandma’s gang of biker witches, a talking Jack Russell terrier, or
an eccentric necromancer on its side. In the ultimate showdown for
survival, may the best demon slayer win.

Read: Jan
2017
Number
of Pages: 226
Why
did you read it: Second

What
was it about: Demon-slaying
powers should come with an instruction book…
Seriously.
Why does a new hair dryer have a twelve-page how-to manual, but when
it comes to ancient demon-fighting hocus-pocus, my biker witch granny
gives me just half a dozen switch stars and a rah-rah speech? Oh, and
a talking terrier, but that’s another story. It’s not like my job
as a preschool teacher prepared me for this kind of thing.
So
I’ve decided to write my own manual, The Dangerous Book for Demon
Slayers, because no one tells me anything. Dimitri, my “protector,”
may be one stud of a shape-shifting griffin, but he always thinks he
can handle everything by himself. Only he’s no match for the
soul-stealing succubi taking over Las Vegas. If I can’t figure out
how to save him—and Sin City—there’ll be hell to pay.
Who
was your favorite Character:
Lizzie
How
did you feel after reading it: It
was a good book. I like the relationship between Dimitri and Lizzie

Title: The
Accidental Demon Slayer
Author:
Angie
Fox
Date
Read: Jan
2017
Number
of Pages: 238
Why
did you read it: I
read southern Spirits by Angie Fox and really liked the series so I
thought I’d try this one of hers.
What
was it about: Straight-laced
preschool teacher, Lizzie Brown, never lies, never cusses, and
doesn’t really care much for surprises. When her long lost Grandma
Gertie shows up on her doorstep on a neon pink Harley Davidson
wearing a “Kiss My Asphalt” t-shirt and hauling a carpet bag full
of Smuckers jars filled with road kill magic, Lizzie doesn’t think
her life could get any stranger. That is, until her hyper-active
terrier starts talking and an ancient demon decides to kill her from
his perch on the back of her toilet.
Lizzie
learns she’s a demon slayer, fated to square off with the devil’s
top minion in, oh about two weeks. Sadly, she’s untrained, unfit
and under attack. Grandma’s gang of seventy-something biker witches
promises to whip Lizzie into shape in no time, as long as she joins
them out on the road. But Lizzie wants nothing to do with all this
craziness. She simply wants her normal life back. When she
accidentally botches the spell meant to protect her, she only has one
choice – trust the utterly delicious but secretive man who claims
to be her protector.
Dimitri
Kallinikos has had enough. Cursed by a demon centuries ago, his
formerly prominent clan has dwindled down to himself and his younger
twin sisters, both of whom are now in the coma that precedes certain
death. To break the curse, he must kill the demon behind it. Dimitri
needs a slayer. At long last, he’s found Lizzie. But how do you
talk a girl you’ve never met into going straight to Hell? Lie (and
hope she forgives you). Dimitri decides to pass himself off as
Lizzie’s fated protector in order to gain her trust and guide her
towards this crucial mission. But will his choice to deceive her cost
them their lives, or simply their hearts?
Who
was your favorite Character:
Dimitri, though he did lie a few times.
How
